Breeziana Ampey is from Redford, MI. Her favorite book is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. She enjoys crocheting, knitting, and is currently learning Swedish. A Psychology major, Breezi’s favorite genres are horror and fantasy, but she usually write YA stuff that examines basic romance and life issues.
Becky Boban is from Madison, OH. A northeast Ohio native. Becky majors in Art and Writing, with a minor in Chemistry. She currently reading Making Poems to enhance her poetry skills and become familiar with other poets’ work. Her favorite book is Fahrenheit 451, and she also admires the work of Flannery O’Connor. Becky enjoys drawing, biking, checkers, and playing badminton. She writes poetry and fiction.
Brista Drake is from Richwood, OH. She is an Art and Writing major. Her favorite book is Looking For Alaska by John Green. In her spare time, she likes to read and write; she has self-published two novels to date and has a YouTube channel. Brista enjoys reading contemporary and fantasy young adult novels and has also appeared in numerous stage productions at Bluffton.
Cara Echols is from New Bremen, OH. An Art and Writing major with a minor in Graphic Design, Cara’s hobbies include playing basketball and gaming. Her favorite books are Isabelle Holland’s Man Without a Face and Ted Dekker’s Circle series. In her free time, Cara likes reading social science fiction and Utopian/Dystopian fiction novels that prompt deeper about her surroundings and building flyable model rockets.
Amber Edwards is from Covington, OH. She studies English at Bluffton and plans to be a high school English teacher. Her favorite book is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. When she is not writing or reading more writing, you can find Amber checking out the stars with her telescope. If she had to pick one genre to read, it would be the romance novel—she cannot resist the charms of the genre.
Shanon Gallagher is from Marengo, OH. A double-major in Psychology and Sociology, Shanon’s favorite books include The House of the Night series of vampire-themed fantasy novels by the mother-daughter writing team of P.C. and Kristen Cast. She likes playing Skyrim on her laptop at the end of the day, reads fiction and science fiction novels, and serves on the Marbeck Center Board at Bluffton where she plans and coordinates student activities.
RaeLee Hightower is from Tulsa, OK. She is reading Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenides, but one of her favorite books is The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy. RaeLee studies English and TESOL; her hobbies include playing Super Smash Bros. and discussing everything from politics, to psychology, to questionable pseudoscience. She takes midnight trips to Denny’s, and frequents coffee houses. RaeLee writes speculative fiction, loves science and young adult fantasy novels.
Cameron Miller is from Grabill, IN. An English Major, Cameron is currently reading Spice & Wolf by Isuna Hasekura. He enjoys reading, road-tripping, and Netflix. Cameron has completed a novel and his favorite genre is science fiction.
Ruthann Stuckey is from Stryker, OH. An English Major and Writing Major with a Business Administration Minor and Marketing Minor. Ruthi is currently reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini. She enjoys reading, video games, knife throwing, & adventures with friends. Ruthi’s favorite genre is fantasy.
Demetrius (Meechi) Terry was born in Birmingham, AL but grew up in Columbus, OH. A Social Work Major and Criminal Justice minor, is on the football and basketball teams at Bluffton University and helps organize poetry events on campus. He fell in love with poetry at age eleven, and over time has worked to improve and progress in his craft by competing in poetry slams and performing anytime he has a chance. His favorite writers are Maya Angelou and Langston Hughs.
Jamie Lyn is from Knox County, Ohio. She earned her BA in English and Theatre from Kenyon College, her Master’s in Education from Fordham University, and her MFA in Creative Writing from Ohio State. She recently joined the Bluffton University, where she teaches Fiction, Literature, and Writing. Her work has appeared in The Pinch, The Kenyon Review, American Literary Review, The Boiler, Barely South, and The Low Valley Review. She’s currently reading Salman Rushdie’s Two Years, Eight Months, and Twenty-Eight Nights.
